CCBKA Honey takes a first in London

The 86th UK national honey show was held at the end of October 2017 at Sandown Race course in Esher in the UK. This honey show attracts entries from all over the world with 1863 entries in different classes. One of the classes is open to association apiaries and in 2017 the Cork association apiary submitted honey ( 6 jars into the apiary class). The class was judged by international honey judge Pierre Saunders from Holland and the Cork honey came out top of the rankings in the class for presentation as well as aroma, viscosity and taste.
The Irish team sent honey from 28 different Irish beekeepers, with 84 prize cards, 11 pieces of silverware coming back over the Irish Sea.
Eleanor Attridge brought home nine prizes and Michael Lane two.
Congratulations to all involved in helping out in the apiary in the current season
