Beginners Course

This years CCBKA Beginners course will begin on Wednesday 10th October at 7.30pm in CIT Bishopstown Cork and run for 7 weeks.

The course is now booked out. 

Cost. The cost of the course this October will be €100 and will include:

    • The beginners course fee
    • CCBKA Membership from October 2018 to Dec 2019.
    • Subscription to An Beachaire, the Irish Beekeeping magazine. Twelve monthly editions throughout 2019.
    • Insurance for 2019. Members of Associations affiliated to FIBKA are fully insured against third party liability.

Extra Family Members who also wish to attend the beginners course pay €70 which includes the same rights as an ordinary members without the extra copy of An Beachaire.

Weds Oct 10th 7.30pm Beekeeping – What it entails.
Weds Oct 17th 7.30pm Workings of a Bee Colony.
Weds Oct 24th 7.30pm Beekeeping Equipment.
Weds Oct 31st 7.30pm Controlling Bees and working for Honey
Weds Nov 7th 7.30pm Pollen & Nectar sources.
Weds Nov 14th 7.30pm Keeping Bees healthy and solving problems.
Weds Nov 21th 7.30pm Harvesting the Honey.

The Location in CIT will be announced closer to the date.

CCBKA will endeavor to source stocks of bees for those who do the course, attend the apiary demonstrations and take part in the preliminary exam.
