Our Autumn beginners course 2019 was sold out and successful. We will run one again in 2020 but in the meantime we are running a course on the 4 consecutive Sundays beginning March 1st 2020 in Skibbereen, Co Cork.
This is a FIBKA approved beekeeping course in conjunction with “Fastnet Area Beekeepers Association”
To be held over 4 Sunday afternoons (from 2pm to 4.30pm) beginning March 1st 2020 the course will cover the following topics.
- Beekeeping and What it entails
- Workings of a bee colony
- Pollen and Nectar Sources
- Beekeeping equipment
- Controlling bees and working for honey
- Harvesting Honey
- Keeping bees healthy and solving problems
- Where to go from here
